Stephen Appiah may be making his debut for Bologna earlier than expected and may face Udinese this weekend.

The Ghanian's player registration papers have been by the Italian Federation and he has already been issued a player identity card.

The club's website issued a statement confirming the situation on Stephen Appiah: "This afternoon, the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio - having received the transfer from the Turkish Federation - has authorized a player identity card to Stephen Appiah,"

Appiah formerly plyed his trade in Turkey with Fenerbache, parted ways with the club after the 2007/08 season. He has been in the Italian Serie A most significantly with Juventus.
