Davide Ballardini chose not to slam his Lazio side after their 2-1 loss to Salzburg in the Europa League, choosing to highlight what they did well.

Ballardini praised his team for never giving up and that their efforts in the 90 minutes were exceptional.

"I think there is a certain way of losing," Ballardini told TMW. "But we played right until the end with lots of chances created.

"We were always fighting for the ball. This is a comforting sign for the rest of the matches to be played. The squad is alive and well.

"As for qualification? Had we won against Salzburg at home, it would have been a completely different group," concluded Ballardini.
