Roma coach Claudio Ranieri wants his team to raise their game against in the Rome derby against Lazio.

Roma had wrapped up qualification in the Europa League after a 2-1 win over Basle on Thursday and now they can focus on  the derby.

Looking ahead of the clash against Lazio, Ranieri wants his troops  to aviod conceding the first goal. Roma had to come from a goal down against Basle to win 2-1.

"We need to be more determined and I always tell the lads that. Conceding a goal is something I always want to avoid and we have to work on that," Ranieri said according to football-italia.net.

"The important thing was to secure our European status, now we want to finish top of the group to have a better draw."

Ranieri was expected to rest several stars only a few days before the Rome derby, but instead fielded a full-strength side.

"I put those in the best shape on tonight because I knew how strong Basel were. Now we can start to focus on this upcoming game that all of us care about very deeply.

"Lazio will be angry, so we need to be even more aggressive and fired up than them."
