Despite having beaten a personal record against Palermo, Cagliari's Alessandro Matri was disappointed with a loss.

Matri however has reiterated the team's aim to reach 40 points as soon as possible this season so as to avoid the dreaded drop into Serie B.

The poacher spoke to Cagliaricalcio.net after the match:

"This is my greatest disappointment. It is useless scoring if you don't get a result.

"We were missing the final knockout blow, and we had the chances to do so.

"Just after an occasion, Budan scored.

"But our objectives do not change: we want to reach the 40 points as soon as possible.

The striker broke the record for scoring in consecutive games. He has scored in every Isolani game since Lazio in late October. It has been six league matches so far and he will be trying to make it seven when the team plays Napoli next.
