Ballardini: Lazio need new players

Lazio coach Davide Ballardini has requested for reinforcements after Lazio's 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan.

The defeat left the Biancocelesti three points clear of the relegation zone.

"We played a good game in a very difficult arena. Lazio deserve the points that they have right now," Ballardini said according to football-italia.net.

"There are some problems at the moment and we need to overcome those difficulties together.

"I spoke with President Lotito after the game and told him what is needed from the transfer market."

His squad has been reduced all season with Goran Pandev and Cristian Ledesma frozen out amid a contract dispute.

They have been sorely missed, as Lazio are the least prolific side in Serie A on a par with Livorno, having netted just 10 times in 17 rounds.

There are strong reports that a deal has already been struck with FC Moscow for striker Maxi Lopez.

"The signing of Maxi Lopez is not official," insisted Ballardini.
