Lazio to fight Pandev court decision
Lazio are prepared to appeal to the Lega Calcio after it was ruled that wantaway striker Goran Pandev can rescind his contract with the club.
Pandev is now free to join any club he wants after declaring he wants to leave Lazio at the end of the last season.
To add insult to injury, Lazio president Claudio Lotito has to pay €160,000 in compensation and legal costs, according to football-italia.net.
Speaking to Radio Radio immediately after the verdict, Lotito said: "The sentence was already written, which is why we made an appeal.
"I am calm in any case, all I can say is that this doesn't end here. I will not give up, this is in no way over then we'll see who wins.
"I will not talk further now," he concluded.
Radio Radio believes Lotito will now pursue Pandev through Italy's civil justice system.
In the meantime he will appeal to the Italian FA to waive the Lega Calcio's decision so he can do just that.
