Inter Milan's Mancini is a step closer to a move to Marseille after the clubs reached an agreement in principle for a loan deal.

Marseille have been pursuing the versatile Brazil international for the past fortnight but discussions appeared to stall last week.

However, the Ligue 1 giants confirmed on their website they have agreed a deal in principle with Inter to bring in Mancini until the end of the season.

Mancini, who joined Inter from Roma in 2008, has yet to agree terms with Marseille.

The 29-year-old is desperate for playing time after making just six league appearances all season.
