Ballardini: We had our chances

Davide Ballardini was satisfied with how Lazio fared against Fiorentina, despite losing 3-2 in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.

Ballardini, at one point of the game, had four attackers upfront in a gamble to win the game, but the Biancocelesti still lost the game.

"We played a very good match," the Lazio boss stated post-match to TMW.

"Our central midfielders are working well together, and the match was played well.

"Several chances occurred even before they scored their first. We knew that we would be facing a strong team with grand ambitions in the tournament.

"With ten minutes to go, I tried to play with four strikers, as we wanted to win."

Ballardini confirmed that he had a chat with team president Claudio Lotito about transfers after the game.

"On the market, there are precise objectives, but it will not be easy," the coach explained.

"We have identified players that will give us a hand, going forward for the rest of the season.

"[Marco] Donadel is a player linked to us, but I never spoken to him.

"The president is doing all that he can for the team, attempting to get the players we need," concluded Ballardini.
