Javier Zanetti insists that the race to the Scudetto is not over after Inter Milan’s emphatic 2-0 derby victory over AC Milan.

Inter currently spot a nine-point advantage over second-place Milan, but Zanetti is adamant that the race for the league title is far from settled.

"Inter gave out a big signal [on Sunday]. However, the league is still open," Zanetti told Sky Sport Italia.

"There are still many games to go and I think Milan will remain with a chance until the end like us.

"It was a nice win, an important one as we showed great character and personality. We deserved to win. We showed the will to win from start to finish."

Zanetti was proud of his Nerazzurri side, claiming that their swagger helped them overcome all odds, even when Inter were down to nine men.

"Milan played their game and tried to impose themselves, but they found an Inter side who had a fundamental approach," he concluded.
