Crespo delighted by Parma return

Hernan Crespo proclaimed himself overwhelmed with joy after completing his return to Parma today.

The 34-year-old, who averaged more than a goal every other game in a four-year stint with the Gialloblu between 1996 and 2000, was thrilled to return to the Stadio Ennio Tardini after finding first-team opportunities limited at Genoa.

"Still I do not know... so much joy, so many emotions... to come back to this city is full of beautiful memories. Still I do not realise the full extent," the former Argentina striker told www.fcparma.com.

"I did not believe it (returning) was possible. And instead the dream has come true. My feelings cannot be explained. I am truly happy."

Crespo will take the place of Nicola Amoruso in the Parma squad after the northern club confirmed the sale of the 35-year-old to Atalanta, who have sent on-loan forward Robert Acquafresca back to parent club Genoa.
