Fiorentina have confirmed they are on the verge of bringing in Barcelona forward Keirrison on a two-season loan deal.

The Serie A club have been forced to move quickly in the transfer market with Adrian Mutu facing a lengthy ban after the Romania striker was temporarily suspended following a positive drugs test.

La Viola have snapped up teenager Haris Seferovic and could complete their second signing in a matter of days.

"ACF Fiorentina announce they have reached an agreement with Barcelona for the signing on a temporary basis of striker Keirrison de Souza Carneiro for two football seasons," read a statement on the official club website.

"The deal will be finalised after he passes his medical which will take place tomorrow."

Fiorentina also have the option to sign Keirrison on a permanent basis.

The Brazilian signed a five-year contract with Barca last summer but has yet to play for the Spanish and European champions as he was immediately shipped out on loan to Benfica.
