Simplicio not ready for Inter move

Midfielder Fabio Simplicio turned down a move to Italian champions Inter Milan as he felt he was not ready to do so.

There has been talk of a move for the Palermo midfielder and talks between the two clubs was in the advanced stages.

But Simplicio's agent Gilmar Rinaldi claimed that while Inter badly needed midfield reinforcements, the midfielder thought it was not the right time to move to San Siro.

"The accord with Inter also involved the team considering other players, and not just Fabio," the agent revealed to TMW. "Nonetheless, we are very satisfied with the interest shown in Fabio by such a big club as Inter.

"At the same time, though, Fabio is happy with Palermo and is ready to fight for the Rosaneri.

"We evaluated the offer, and decided that it was not the time to close out this deal. As for Roma? There is no deal with them, or any other club.

"Now, we shall wait until the end of the season and evaluate what the best solution is for the player," concluded Rinaldi.

The 30-year-old Sao Paulo-born player first joined Parma in 2004 and was coached by the legendary Arrigo Sacchi.
