Roma midfielder Matteo Brighi’s agent explained his client’s possibility of joining Fiorentina during the winter transfer window.

Vanni Puzzolo claimed that Fiorentina had inquired about the midfielder last July but not over the current window that had just passed.

Speaking to TMW, Puzzolo said: "In July last year, [sporting director Pantaleo] Corvino had made inquiries about Brighi.

"We discussed things back then, but not this time around.

"Something could have occurred this time, but then the [Adrian] Mutu case erupted.

"In theory, Roma would not have let the player go, but you never know what can happen when a serious offer is put in front of them. Things can change. When the season ends, who knows what will happen," concluded Puzzolo.
