Livorno 1-1 Juventus
Livorno wrote the next sorry chapter in Juventus' season by holding them to a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Armando Picchi.
Antonio Filippini gave the home side a deserved lead in the 26th minute before Nicola Legrottaglie equalised three minutes from the interval.
Juve lacked ideas and risked losing the game, especially after Felipe Melo's dismissal left them with 10 men for the final eight minutes.
The Bianconeri could now find themselves as low as 10th if results go against them tomorrow.
Livorno were fresh from an impressive draw against AC Milan and they looked keen to take points off another of Italy's top clubs.
Veteran midfielder Filippini was at the heart of everything, going close early on when sent through by Mozart, but his attempted cross into the centre was cut out.
Nico Pulzetti shot wide of Gianluigi Buffon's post as Livorno enjoyed a lively opening 10 minutes.
Juve were struggling to get to grips with their new tactical approach with Legrottaglie, Giorgio Chiellini and Fabio Cannavaro all included in a three-man defence.
Martin Caceres and Fabio Grosso were meant to play as wing-backs but were failing to make it out of their own half, effectively giving the Bianconeri a flat back five which invited pressure onto them.
Inevitably, they fell behind with Filippini giving Livorno a deserved lead in the 26th minute.
A cross from the right was just missed by Cristiano Lucarelli, but it reached Luigi Vitale on the other side of the penalty area. He lifted the ball back into the middle where the unmarked Filippini stole in to head into the top left-hand corner of Buffon's goal.
The home team grew in confidence with an excellent prolonged spell of possession culminating in another cross into the area which Lucarelli directed towards goal, albeit without enough power to trouble Buffon.
Claudio Bellucci fired wide from a tight angle as Livorno continued to attack, but they were punished for their wayward shooting when Legrottaglie levelled for the Bianconeri just before the break.
Diego lifted a free-kick over the top to the far post where Legrottaglie made contact ahead of Chiellini to head the ball in off the inside of the post, amid Livorno protest that the Juve defender had been offside.
The goal seemed to give Juventus belief and they looked a lot more confident in the second half, although they still lacked any ideas in attack.
The best chance of the second half fell to the impressive Filippini, who lifted his shot over the crossbar from eight yards after Pulzetti pulled the ball back from the goal line.
Matters went from bad to worse for Juve as they ended the game with 10 men when Felipe Melo was given his marching orders for a second yellow card in the 82nd minute.
And they could end the weekend as low as 10th if results elsewhere go against them on Sunday.
