Tiago Mendes is more than happy to stay at permanently at Atletico Madrid when his loan period from Juventus ends.

The Portuguese midfielder is enjoying playing for the Spanish side and is glad to have the trust from the Atletico coach Quique Sanchez Flores.

"It is nice to have the trust of the manager," said Tiago who had a forgettable experience with Juventus.

"I am playing a lot and this is always a positive thing.

"It is a bit early to talk about the future but I would like to stay here. This is a young team and I can contribute a bit of experience."

Tiago also backs his club to rediscover their form and raise up the table.

"We are still in a with a great challenge for the Copa del Rey and we also want to go far in Europe.

"It will also be important to qualify to the Europa League at the end of the season. That's why our draw with Santader was a good score."
