Del Piero keen to perform
Juventus captain Alessandro del Piero has said that the there is no point in talking about the team's current troubles.
The Bianconeri have endured a horrific run ever after their celebrated vicotory over Inter Milan in December last year. In the 8 games since, they have picked up only 2 points.
However, the talismanic Italian wants the focus to be on producing better results rather than talk about what has happened.
Talking to Tutto Sport, del Piero said that “The moment we are experiencing is there for everyone to see and it is difficult to add anything to what we have already said.”
He was still keen to point out the silver lining though.
"If you really want to try to find something positive before retuning to training with a view to the match against Genoa on Sunday, we look at the standings and see that the Champions League, albeit through the tricky transition from the preliminaries, is only three points away," said the 35-year-old.
Del Piero was also of the view that contrary to popular judgement, the weekend draw with Livorno was a good result for his team.
"The point of Livorno be satisfying, in fact, as I was not happy with my performance. But now we set that goal, the Champions League and trying to get there as soon as possible."
