Agent: Jovetic exit talk nonsense
Steven Jovetic’s agent, Fali Ramadani, has shot down speculation that his client was ready to leave Fiorentina in January.
Reports indicate that Jovetic was ready to put in a transfer request had La Viola signed Antonio Cassano in the winter transfer window. Cassano's loan move to Florence broke down on deadline day and Il Corriere dello Sport claims that the Montenegrin striker had a hand in stopping the move by talking to coach Cesare Prandelli, expressing his fear of losing his starting spot had the veteran striker arrived.
"I am not aware of Jovetic having ever considered leaving Fiorentina," Ramadani told Tuttomercatoweb.
"The player is settled in Florence and is happy. Therefore, I see no reason why he should think about leaving.
"He has recovered well from his injury and is aware that without [Adrian] Mutu he can really have an important chance."
The Romanian forward has been banned over doping claims by the Italian Olympic Committee.
