Flamengo striker Adriano feels he could make a return to European football despite distancing himself from a move to Roma.

The Brazil international and former Inter Milan star is preparing for the Rio de Janeiro club's Libertadores Cup campaign but has been linked with moves to Roma and Inter's city rivals AC Milan.

He told reporters in Rio: "I have never made choices in my life for money, so I would not return to Europe unless I felt I was playing well enough. If money counted for something in my life, I would not have left my salary at Inter to come to Flamengo.

"The only thing I have said is that now I actually have the ability to return to European football because I feel more mature and ready.

"But I would still need to think and make the decision with my family."
