Keirrison raring to prove himself

Barcelona's on-loan striker Keirrison is grateful for the chances given to him by Fiorentina after his transfer from Benfica.

The 21-year-old wonderkid has been hailed as one of the most promising players in the world but yet he was limited to just one appearance for Benfica.

Keirrison joined Barcelona in July and was loaned to Portguese giants Benifca to gain experience. But it did not turn out to be a rewarding for the Brazilian and now he has moved on to Serie A's Fiorentina.

"I do not think how much they paid for me. The only thing I need are opportunities," he told Sport.

"I was the top scorer of the Brazilian Championship and now I want to work."

"I know what I want, but it will only be time that will tell if I succeed. I want to be in the Brazilian team and contest the 2014 World Cup."

Keirrison has so far done well in Italy. He recorded his first goal for Fiorentina after scoring a last-minute equaliser against Lazio last weekend.
