Jonathan Zebina launched a scathing attack on Juventus fans who racially abused him at Craven Cottage on Thursday night.

The Turin giants were dealt a shocking 4-1 loss having won the first leg 3-1 and are now out of the Europa League.

Juve fans who travelled all the way from Italy to support their team, started to turn against their own players with Fulham asserting their control as the match went on.

Speaking to Corriere Dello Sport after the game, Zebina said: "I was insulted by approximately 30 thugs and racists,

"Some of them came to England, travelling thousands of kilometres just to chant those things.

"To me, and to [team-mate] Felipe Melo, they began to denigrate us during the warm-up, and I am sick of this situation. These people need to stop. We received more of an applause from the Fulham fans than our own supporters.

"I raised my middle finger, and ask to be forgiven for this, because I was not a good example for children. But I was exasperated.

"As for the match? After the sending-off of [Fabio] Cannavaro, we were in a difficult situation,"

The visiting fans worsened the situation when they continued their protest outside the stadium after the match ended, calling for an apology from Zebina while also demanding more commitment from the whole team.
