"Honda not on the road to Milan!"

AC Milan have not made any approach for Keisuke Honda, according to the player's agent.

Honda, who plays for Russian club CSKA Moscow, was hugely impressive in his club's Champions League campaign last season.

He was in the limelight again with Japan during the World Cup in South Africa and scored two goals as the Asians made it out of the group stages from a tough group.

He has already been linked with AC Milan as well as Arsenal, but his agent Kees Ploegsma has denied any formal approach has been made.

"I know nothing about this, no one contacted me," he said.

"A few clubs have asked for information but these have been only informal talks and at the end nothing became concrete.

"Honda signed in January a deal until December 2013. We don't know if the Russian side are ready to sell him. Obviously it's an honour being linked to prestigious sides."

The CSKA authorities have also denied the transfer rumours.

In comments reported by bobsoccer.ru, General Director Roman Babaev said: "I heard such information. It's no wonder that Honda's name appears in this kind of conversation because he really deserves the attention.

"However, in this case I am commenting on absolutely nothing, because no official request from Milan has appeared."

With Ronaldinho on the verge of signing a new deal with the Rossonerri, it does seem unlikely that the cash-strapped club will make a move for Honda this season.
