Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi is ready to forsake his support for AC Milan so he can join Inter Milan.

The Italian has been linked with the Nerazzurri as a replacement for Mario Balotelli once he completes his move to Manchester City.

Despite his stable stand with Villarreal, Rossi sounded optimistic when asked about joining Inter, and he will cast his favour for Milan aside so he can join the Rossoneri's historic rivals.

"I have read in the papers that Inter have asked about me, but I have not heard anything official," he told Il Corriere dello Sport.

"Of course, if I received an interesting proposal from a great team then I would think about it, and then we would see what happens.

"I won't hide that the voices are pleasing. Being linked with the best team in Europe and Champions League winners is nice.

"Milan? I was a Milanista when I was young, but when you become a professional then you only think about doing well for the team you play for."
