Inter defender Maicon has admitted he does not know where his future stands amidst the transfer saga linking him to Real Madrid.

The Brazilian right-back has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu all summer with Madrid coach Jose Mourinho especially keen on landing him.

But the 29-year-old claimed he is in the dark about a potential move.

"I really do not know how I stand. When just beginning to play, you don't have a price," he told Spanish publication AS.

"People say my price is very high but I am trying to ignore these conversations and concentrate on my football.

"I am trying to help my team and prove everything on the field. For me it is only important what I do on the field."

Maicon could well see the light at the end his transfer saga as a move to Madrid is edging ever closer with both clubs beginning to lower their demands in order to catalyze negotiations.

Agent Antonio Caliendo has also emerged saying that a deal will be concluded within days.

"The question surrounding Maicon will be solved within the next two to three days. Now I must say it's (Massimo) Moratti's word. But I'm very optimistic it all ends well, " said Caliendo.

Maicon did not feature in Inter's 3-2 friendly loss to Panathinaikos in Toronto.
