"Juve have bought useless players!"
Former Juventus director Luciano Moggi has lashed out at the club for their poor transfer dealings in the summer.
Juventus' moves in the transfer window have come under some harsh scrutiny and Moggi, one of the most controversial figures in Italian football did not mince his words either.
Writing in his column for Tuttomercatoweb.com, he commented: "Juventus did everything they shouldn't have done to return to being competitive.
"People ask me what I would have done... nothing. The directors have acquired players who were reserves in other teams. One example is Leandro Rinaudo. It's the same with Simone Pepe.
The criticism got even more scathing in the following paragraphs.
"Juve's transfer market resembles that of a provincial team. They don't have the power to attract players like they once did. And they are a club that fails to protect players who often come under the microscope," wrote Moggi.
"They need quality. It makes no sense to buy a load of players who are useless to the project."
In addition to Pepe and Rinaudo, Juventus have also bought Arsenal's Armand Traore - who was third choice left-back at the Emirates Stadium.
