"Milan and Barca strongest in Europe"

"Milan and Barca strongest in Europe"

AC Milan new-boy Robinho has set the PR machinery in motion by comparing his side to Barcelona.

Robinho sulked his way from Manchester City to Milan via Brazilian side Santos on the last day of the transfer window.

The striker never really settled at Eastlands and began angling for a move away soon after the arrival of Roberto Mancini as City coach.

Having been granted his wish, the Brazilian has been on something of a public relations exercise for the Rossoneri, waxing eloquent about the strength of the side at every possible opportunity.

In his latest statements to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he said: "I dream of the final between Milan and Barcelona. At the moment they are the strongest teams.

"Milan made some huge buys and on paper we are very strong. We are deadly on paper, but now we have to be like that on the pitch.

"I feel at home at Milan because of the Brazilians and I have important friends in Ronaldinho, Alexandre Pato and Thiago Silva."

As luck would have it, Milan have been drawn with Real Madrid in Group G of the Champions League. Robinho played for Real from 2005-2008 and scored 25 times for the La Liga giants.

He is looking forward to locking horns with his erstwhile teammates.

"I would like to win at the Bernabeu as it is a magical stadium. And if I score I will celebrate."

Real and Milan clash on Oct 19 in the first leg of their second group game at the Bernabeu.
