Nedved refused Mourinho chance

Juventus legend Pavel Nedved has revealed he turned down the chance to play for Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan.

The midfielder hung up his boots in 2009 but was approached by the Special One about being part of his revolution at Inter.

However, Nedved felt the move would have been a betrayal on his part to the club he has been at since 2001.

"Mourinho courted me constantly and said: come to Inter, I'll make you win the Champions League," Nedved told Mediaset Premium.

"He was convinced that he would take the trophy and he was right.

"But I was and am a Juventino, so I said no. I loved Juventus too much to join Inter.

"I really wish I'd been able to win the Champions League with Juve, but I couldn't do it with another jersey on my back."

Mourinho's Inter side did go on to win the Champions League last season, although the Portuguese manager has since moved on to coach Real Madrid.

Nedved now works as a director at the Turin giants.
