Allegri pleased by clinical Milan

AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri was delighted with his side's performance after a 3-1 Coppa Italia victory over Lazio booked a semifinal spot for the Rossoneri.

Lazio took the early lead five minutes into the match after Djibril Cisse volleyed home but Milan responded immediately with goals from Robinho and Clarence Seedorf. Zlatan Ibrahimovic sealed the win six minutes from time.

Allegri praised his side's finishing that saw them through to the semifinals, where they will face Serie A leders Juventus.

"Overall, we had a good match," he said after the match. "We really wanted to reach the semi finals and that is what happened.

"In the first half, Marco Amelia made two important saves, while we had several chances on goal and we scored twice.

"After the break, there were some situations in which we made a wrong choice in the last pass."

Allegri chose not to comment on the fact that they would be facing fellow Scudetto contenders Juventus when asked about the upcoming clash.

"Regardless of the fact that we are facing Juve, we want to go through, because last year we crashed out in the semi-finals," he noted.

AC Milan resume their Serie A campaign against Cagliari at the San Siro on Sunday.
