Honda moves on from Lazio blow
CSKA Moscow attacking midfielder Keisuke Honda is keen to move on from the disappointment of his failed move to Lazio in the January transfer window.
The Japan international had been linked with several European clubs in the last 18 months, including Manchester City and Liverpool but it was Serie A side Lazio which expressed the most interest with a bid for the player.
However, Lazio's proposed deal for Honda collapsed on deadline day with CSKA insisting that the Italians did not stump up the cash to sign Japanese midfielder.
"If moaning about it would get me a move I would have a moan," Honda is quoted as saying by Reuters.
"But I know how important it is for me to focus on the things I need to do now."
Lazio have since denied they did not make a serious offer for Honda as claimed by CSKA.
"The proposal sent to CSKA to sign Honda was worth €13 million over three instalments plus the sale of goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo," read a statement on the club's official website.
"It was the biggest economic proposal made by any Italian club in January 2012."
CSKA were understood to have wanted €16 million for Honda.
