Conte: Caceres can still improve

Juventus coach Antonio Conte insists two-goal hero Martin Caceres can still improve despite his match-winning exploits in Wednesday's 2-1 Coppa Italia win over AC Milan.

Fresh from rejoining the Bianconeri on loan after a successful spell back in the 2009/10 season, Caceres announced his return in the best way possible by netting two goals against Milan, cancelling out Stephan El Shaarawy's strike to hand Juve an aggregate lead.

But despite his match-winning exploits, Conte believes there are other aspects of Caceres' game that can still be improved on.

"Caceres needs to do better in terms of defensive actions," Conte told RAI Sport. "But when it comes to his attacking movement, I have nothing to complain about.

The Juve coach was also pleased with the way his team responded to the disappointment of last weekend's 0-0 draw with Siena, which leaves them just one point ahead of Milan at the top of the Serie A.

"I am pleased with the response from every player who stepped on to the pitch in a match as important as this one," Conte added.

"The team gave a good response to what I had asked from them. Besides the result, the introduction of new players was also important, and they played well."

Nonethless, Conte was quick to assert that the job was only half done, and was not ready to contemplate a place in the Coppa Italia final.

"The tie is still open because Milan are a good side who still have something to say.

"We are anticipating a very hard second leg to get a place in the final."

Juventus are back in Serie A action on Sunday when they travel to Bologna.
