Chiellini delighted with Juve progress
Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini expressed his delight at the club's progress in the Coppa Italia following the 2-1 first leg semifinal victory over AC Milan at San Siro.
New signing Martin Caceres was the hero with two goals as manager Antonio Conte made eight changes to the squad that featured in the stalemate against Siena over the weekend.
The two away goals have put Juventus in good stead to reach the Coppa Italia finals, where they will face either Siena or Napoli.
Chiellini was especially happy for the new signings who adapted to the squad immediately.
He said on the club's official website: "The team's performance was the most important aspect of the evening. We changed eight of the 11 that featured against Siena, but everyone played really well.
"The new players, [Simone] Padoin and Caceres, managed to fit in perfectly. This is the test that shows this team has great determination and tactical organisation."
With the club not chasing European honours this season, Chiellini stressed that they will be going all out to win the Coppa Italia.
"The Coppa Italia is a primary objective, especially when considering the fact that we're not playing in Europe."
Juventus are still unbeaten so far this season and are leading the Serie A by one point and with a game in hand.
