Amauri: Bad luck cost me at Juve

Fiorentina loanee Amauri has blamed a combination of bad luck and bad timing for his failure to make the grade at Juventus.

The 31-year-old ended a frustrating spell at the Turin giant by signing for Fiorentina on loan in the January transfer window.

Amauri scored 17 league goals in 71 appearances for Juventus following his big-money move from Palermo, but was deemed surplus to requirements following the club's decision to appoint Antonio Conte as its new manager.

"I was unfortunate enough to arrive at Juventus when everything changed," Amauri told Eurosport.

"Squad and board changed.

"I was unfortunate enough to be at the club when everything changed again. The thing that made me suffer the most was to be off the pitch for so long.

"I realised there was no place for me there anymore when I went to Parma."

However, Amauri appears to not hold any grudges against Conte and revealed that the Juve manager's authority at the club cannot be questioned.

"At Juve everyone, I repeat, everyone does what the coach says," Amauri said.

Amauri was snapped up by Fiorentina who had been looking to draft in attacking reinforcements after offloading striker Alberto Gilardino to Genoa in the transfer window.
