Mourinho backs Adriano to shine

Newly appointed Inter coach, Jose Mourinho, sees Adriano's ability to hold the ball up as a huge asset to his team.

Mourinho has also stated that the problematic forward will play a key role in the upcoming season alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Julio Cruz.

The Portuguese coach even travelled to South America the past week to catch his star man in a World Cup qualifying match between Brazil and Argentina.

Although neither of them managed to speak to each other after the game, it has been reported that the special one has already spoken to Adriano a couple of times in the past weeks stating his intentions of getting him back to being the player he once was.

Just like how Didier Drogba functioned as the link up man for Chelsea, Mourinho likes playing with a striker who can hold the ball up and bring the rest of the team into the game.

Another big hint that Adriano's Serie A career might be on the up is that Mourinho has previously tried to sign the Brazilian ace a few years back for Chelsea before he even rose to prominence with Inter and Brazil.
