Stankovic wants Juve switch

Dejan Stankovic is eager to jump ship to Juventus after not being included in Jose Mourinho’s Inter plans for next season.

However, according to Italian Sports Daily 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', Stankovic’s desired move looks to have hit a roadblock after the SaveBianconeri outfit is only willing to spend US$12m as opposed to the US$23m Inter are demanding for.

Juve’s stance on only paying nearly half of the approved transfer fee is understandable considering the fact the Stankovic is coming on the back of a injury hit season coupled with him turning 30 in September.

Nevertheless, the player has already struck an accord with the Old Lady and the two giants could shake hands on a compromise deal which would suit all parties.

Another factor in Inter's eagerness to offload the midfielder is due to him commanding a staggering US$6m per season until 2011 in and Juve's rgid wage structure mean the Turin based club will insist he takes a pay cut of about US$2m.

The consensus is that a deal of about US$16m will be agreed, albeit negotiations could haggle on for another few more days.
