Lazio announced the signing of Romanian defender, Stefan Radu from Dinamo Bucharest following a successful loan spell.

The 21-year-old defender is widely regarded as one of Romania's best young players and has been nicknamed the ‘new Christian Chivu'.

Radu played for Lazio last season and impressed the Serie A side with his defensive prowess while making 11 starts in the league.

The Biancocelesti will fork out US$10.5m to seal the deal.

This would be bad news for Sir Alex Ferguson as he was keen on taking the player to Old Trafford but will now have to look elsewhere.
