In demand Quaresma joins Inter

Ricardo Quaresma’s mysterious “new club” saga has finally been revealed with Inter Milan snagging the Porto starlet.

Having missed out on prime target Amantino Mancini of AS Roma, Inter boss Jose Mourinho has swooped for his compatriot, who has underlined his aim of seeking newer pastures away from Portugal.

Despite being reluctant to fork out the required US$63m get-out clause in his contract, a fee and swap deal appealed to both parties with an initial US$40 m plus David Suazo being offered by Inter.

However, Porto’s hardball stance meant that the Italian outfit have plunged for US$55m along with the sale of Pele in order to get their man.

Quaresma has already thrashed out personal terms with Inter and is expected to be unveiled early next week.

His arrival looks likely to come on the back of Frank Lampard’s imminent move from Chelsea.
