Here is a look at the life-and-times of Brazilian wizard Ronaldinho who is on the verge of a move to Milan.
1980: Born Ronaldo de Assis Moreira in Porto Alegre, Brazil on March 21.
1998: Signs for his hometown club Gremio.
1999: June - Makes international debut for Brazil against Latvia, and goes on to announce himself to the world in the Copa America with a stunning solo goal against Venezuela - his first for his country. Brazil go on to win the tournament.
2001: January: Completes dream move into European football when Paris St Germain buy him from Gremio. However, the demands of his former club meant he was unable to play for his new club before August as wranglings over the transfer fee went on.
2002: January - Reports back to PSG late following the Christmas/New Year break - one of many disagreements between the talented star and strict manager Luis Fernandez.
July: Teams up with international colleagues Ronaldo and Rivaldo to guide Brazil to World Cup glory in South Korea and Japan, dumping England out in the quarter-final with a free-kick before being sent off en route to the final, in which Luiz Felipe Scolari's side beat Germany.
2003: July - Moves to Barcelona for US$36m (£18m) despite the advances of Manchester United.
2004: June - After a hugely successful first season in La Liga, Barca hand Ronaldinho an improved contract which raises his buy-out clause from US$132million to US$200m after Chelsea reportedly inquire about his services.
December: Named FIFA World Player of the Year, ahead of Arsenal's Thierry Henry and AC Milan's Andriy Shevchenko
2005: May - Helps Barca to first Primera Liga title in six years.
November - Wins inaugural FIFPro World Player of the Year award.
Wins European Player of the Year award.
December - Retains FIFA World Player of the Year crown.
2006: May - Plays a key role as Barca retain the Primera Liga and also land the Champions League with victory over Arsenal.
June - Fails to shine in World Cup as Brazil crash out at the quarter-final stage.
November - Retains FIFPro World Player of the Year award.
December - Helps Barca reach Club World Cup final in Yokohama, Japan, where they lose 1-0 to Brazilian side Internacional.
Finishes third in the FIFA World Player of the Year poll, behind Fabio Cannavaro and Zinedine Zidane.
2007: June - Scores in Barca's 5-1 win at Gimnastic Tarragona on last day of season but it is not enough for the Catalan outfit to claim third successive La Liga crown as they are pipped to title on goal difference by Real Madrid.
September - Barcelona president Joan Laporta and defender Gianluca Zambrotta publicly back the under-fire playmaker after some below-par performances.
December - Ronaldinho's brother and manager, Roberto de Assis, rejects reports the player has been in contact with AC Milan or Chelsea and insists he is committed to seeing out his contract with Barca which runs until 2010.
2008: March - Future plunged into further doubt after scan confirms the Brazilian is not injured, despite his claims to the contrary.
April - Ruled out for six weeks with a thigh injury, meaning he will miss bulk of remaining eight Primera Liga matches.
July - Barcelona state they will not allow Ronaldinho to play for Brazil at the Olympics in Beijing.
July 15 - AC Milan announce signing of Ronaldinho on a three-year contract, subject to a medical.
