WC qualifying South America
Here's a preview on all the South American World Cup qualifying clashes which will take place over the weekend.
Argentina v ParaguaySouth American powerhouses Argentina will continue their road to South Africa in a tough looking fixture when they take on rivals Paraguay. The big names such as the likes of Liverpool's Javier Mascherano, Newcastle's Fabricio Coloccini, Jonas Gutierrez and Manchester City's Pablo Zabaleta have all been included while the duo of Juan Roman Riquelme and Lionel Messi, who helped Argentina to gold medal glory at the Beijing Olympics, have also been drafted in. Visitors Paraguay are fighting to get star striker Roque Santa Cruz fit in time for this crucial clash, with the Blackburn striker's condition rated to be touch-and-go.
Ecuador v Bolivia
Wigan winger and Ecuadorian Antonio Valencia is suspended for this clash with Bolivia which will kick-start their World Cup campaign in their quest to qualify for the finals for the first time since USA 1994.
Colombia v Uruguay
Fallen giants Colombia will face a difficult encounter when they face Uruguay at home in Bogota. The Uruguayans will be boosted by the form of striking duo of Diego Forlan and Carlos Bueno, who shared five goals between themselves in their country's 6-0 thrashing of Peru in June.
Peru v Venezuela
Peru's stock has fallen considerably over the years and the retirement of skipper Nolberto Solano has further rocked the side as they renew their World Cup qualification quest on the back of their 6-0 whitewash by Uruguay. All hopes will be pinned on Hamburg striker José Guerrero to get the goals against a careless Venezuela backline.
Chile v Brazil
Fourth placed Chile will entertain Brazil hoping to continue their good form on the back of their last minute 3-2 away victory over Venezuela. Brazil, recent bronze medalist at the Beijing Olympics, will see the return of Ronaldinho and new Manchester City signing Robinho. AC Milan forward Kaka has been refused to be released by his club after just recovering from knee surgery while Manchester United's Anderson also sits out after failing to shake off an injury.
