Orion handed Argentina call
Alfio Basile has called up goalkeeper Agustin Orion as a replacement for the injured Roberto Abbondanzieri.
Abbondanzieri had to be substituted after picking up a knee injury in the 15th minute of his side's 1-1 draw with Paraguay on Saturday.
He collided with his own defender Gabriel Heinze as the pair, along with Paraguay's Nelson Haedo Valdez, converged on a long ball.
Heinze inadvertently headed the ball into the empty net as he collided with his keeper to give Paraguay the lead. Sergio Aguero equalised for Argentina in the second half.
National team doctor Homero De Agostino said: "Abbondanzieri had a deep wound but it is only superficial. There is no ligament or bone damage."
"He has been ruled out of playing Peru as this wound needs around 15 days to heal."
The Getafe custodian added: "It's a terrible knock and a deep, large wound. It opened my knee and it really hurt at the time.
"I was worried about my knee. It's a pity but these things usually happen in football so it's time to wait for it to recover."
Orion, 27, has yet to win an international cap, but was part of the squad for last year's Copa America.
He will join up on Sunday evening with the team, who will fly to Lima on Monday.
Basile will also have to do without striker Carlos Tevez and midfielder Javier Mascherano through suspension.
Tevez was sent off in the first half against Paraguay, while Mascherano picked up another booking.
The coach has not announced a replacement for either player yet, but Real Madrid's Fernando Gago is available after being banned for the Paraguay game.
Argentina have drawn their last five games, including friendlies, but remain unbeaten since November.
