Robinho overjoyed as Brazil cruise

Robinho felt that playing alongside Ronaldinho and Luis Fabiano was crucial to Brazil's convincing 3-0 win over Chile.

Robinho scored while Luis Fabiano netted a brace to help Brazil move up to second in the South American qualifying group with 12 points, just two behind leaders Paraguay

With Brazil managing only two wins in their previous six games in the qualifiers, the newly-signed Manchester City forward felt that the victory was a huge psychological boost for his side.

"It is easy to play with Ronaldinho and Luis Fabiano when we have the ball," said Robinho.

"The problems begin when we don't have it as we have to move back and mark. Today, we managed to balance that as well.

"We took advantage of the opportunities we created. Thankfully things always go well for me against Chile.

"We knew that we had to improve our record in this competition. Despite this victory we know that we have not played our best football in our last few matches so we have to do better, especially against our arch-rivals Argentina."

Man of the match Luis Fabiano added: "I am happy for the group. We worked hard during the entire week because we knew how important these three points were.

"We played with our hearts and had a good game.

"Everybody is happy now but we have to think in our next game. However, we can beat any opponent with this spirit."

Brazil face last-placed Bolivia in Rio de Janeiro in their next match on Wednesday.
