Duo expecting tough test
Brazil duo Maicon and Juan have warned their team-mates to expect a tough test when they take on Venezuela on Sunday.
Venezuela defeated the Selecao for the very first time in a friendly played in Boston in July and Internazionale defender Maicon expects the Vinotinto will be encouraged by that triumph.
"We had never lost to Venezuela before and now they are very confident. They managed to beat us three months ago and it will be a very difficult game to win," said Maicon.
"We must do our job very well here at the Granja Comary to get to Venezuela, play good football and clinch the three points. It will be a fast match, but our national team are ready to face everything."
Venezuela will be desperate for the points as they attempt to improve on their current eighth-place position.
Brazil will also be wary about dropping points as, although second in the group, they are level on 13 points with Argentina and Chile and only a point above Uruguay.
Juan is aware that they can not afford to underestimate their hosts.
"Venezuela are very enthusiastic," said the Roma defender. "Their team have gained confidence and will try to score.
"However, we'll also try to play offensively so it will be an even match I think."
Three days after playing Venezuela, Brazil return to Rio de Janeiro to play Colombia at the Estadio Maracana.
