Del Bosque: We got what we wanted

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque praised his side for a professional if not vintage performance in win over Estonia.

Spain continued their 100% record at the top of Group Five with their third successive win after downing Estonia 3-0 in Tallinn, with first-half goals from Juanito and David Villa being added to by Carles Puyol's close-range header after the break.

"They know the demands are bigger on Wednesday in the game against Belgium," he said. "We were not brilliant, but not bad either. It was a game to pick up three points and look to the next one."

The victory not only kept their World Cup bid on track, but it also extended Spain's unbeaten run to 26 matches and saw the team break a national record for not conceding.

The previous record was set at 692 minutes, but that mark was eclipsed 74 minutes into Saturday's encounter.

Del Bosque said of his side's record-breaking exploits: "That's all good, but the most important thing is the three points.

"Spain are in the winning habit and we need to take advantage of the moment to obtain the best advantage in the standings."
