Lagerback down after draw
Sweden coach Lars Lagerback believes his team deserved more than a point from their World Cup qualifier against Portugal.
Johan Elmander came closest to breaking the deadlock in the first half, but he squandered several chances as the hosts had to settle for a goalless draw on Saturday night.
Unbeaten Sweden remain one point ahead of Portugal in Group One - which is led by Denmark - but Lagerback believes a win would have been a fairer result for his players.
"I'm really pleased with our performance but a little unhappy with the result," he said.
"I thought we created a lot of chances in the first half and we should have won. Portugal were restricted to shots from distance with the exception of Cristiano Ronaldo."
Sweden captain Zlatan Ibrahimovic echoed the sentiments of his coach, but is confident his team-mates have given Portugal something to think about before the two teams meet again next year.
"We should have won," said the Internazionale striker. "But one point is better than nothing.
"I think we had a tremendous first half and it's a shame Elmander couldn't put away the chances we had. But it was important to create chances and we did that.
"We got a point, they now have respect for us and it's proof we can get good results in Europe."
The Portuguese will have the chance to leapfrog Sweden in the standings when they entertain Albania on Wednesday.
Sweden's next qualifier will be in Portugal on March 28 but they will have to do without the suspended Ibrahimovic for that clash after he picked up his second yellow card of the campaign on Saturday.
