England face Belarus on Wednesday hoping to carry on their recent good form.They certainly have the stats on their side.

Belarus and England have never met before in international football. Belarus will become England's 80th different opponent.
England ‘B' team lost 2-1 to Belarus in a friendly at the Madejski Stadium, Reading before the 2006 World Cup Finals, May 2006. Jermaine Jenas put England ahead before Vitaly Kutuzov and Sergey Kornilenko scored for Belarus.

Unbeaten in their last three home matches, including beating Holland 2-1 in Euro 2008 qualifying and drawing 0-0 against Argentina in a friendly in Minsk in their last home match, August 20.
Won only two of their previous eight competitive meetings with British teams. They won one of four meetings with both Scotland and Wales.
However, their two wins against British teams both came in World Cup qualifying. They won their last meeting against a British team - winning 1-0 against Scotland in Glasgow in October 2005. They also won 2-1 at home against Wales in World Cup qualifying, September 2000.

Looking to win their opening four matches of a qualifying group for the first time in 37 years, since their 1972 European Championship qualification group. England have never won their opening four matches of a World Cup qualifying group.
England have an excellent record against former Soviet states. They have won all eleven matches against these sides, scoring 30 goals. The only goal they have conceded was in their 5-1 home WCQ win against Kazakhstan last Saturday.
England have won all four of the previous competitive away matches in former Soviet states without conceding a goal.
Wayne Rooney has scored five goals in his last five competitive matches, having failed to score in his previous 16 competitive games for his country. If he scores today it will be the first time he has scored in three consecutive matches for England.
