Perfect start for Marwijk
Henk Kesler is impressed with how Holland have responded under new coach Bert van Marwijk with a perfect start.
A 2-0 win over Iceland in Rotterdam on Saturday was followed up by a 1-0 away victory in Norway on Wednesday night to put Holland five points clear of second-placed Scotland in Group Nine.
"With nine points from three games and a broad lead over the rest of Group Nine Bert van Marwijk has made a fine start," Kesler said on the KNVB website.
"Against Iceland, Holland played nicely, although not many goals were scored."
Kesler was also impressed by the performance in a potential tricky tie in Oslo.
"To win in Oslo was important, that's why I feel satisfied," he said.
Holland will next play Sweden in a friendly before resuming their qualifying campaign next year.
"The coach and the rest of his staff can experiment and rest players against Sweden and they have a good opportunity to prepare as they go on to the next qualifiers against Scotland and Macedonia," he said.
"When all the injured players are fit, there will be again a broad and strong selection."
Van Marwijk took over as Dutch coach when Marco van Basten left for Ajax following Euro 2008.
