Cristiano Ronaldo has been warned by former Barcelona striker Hristo Stoichkov to look out for illegal challenges in La Liga.

The 1994 European Footballer of the Year thinks Ronaldo will be targeted even more by opposition defenders when he returns from his ankle injury.

The Bulgarian who was part of Johan Cruyff's 'dream team' at Barcelona was well known for his skills as well as his temper. He would frequently argue with opposition defenders if he got fed up with the constant fouling.

Stoichkov feels tackling in England is much more different than Spain.

"He's a great player like Figo was in his day, who scored before and after in Madrid. But injuries can kill you. In England they play with more nobility, they go more for the ball. In Spain it is different," said Stoichkov.
