Domenech: Many options for new boss

The French football federation should keep their options open about the next national coach, says current coach Raymond Domenech.

The French football federation should keep their options open as to who will take over as national coach after the World Cup, according to current incumbent Raymond Domenech.

Domenech will stand down from the role he has occupied since 2004 after this summer's showpiece event in South Africa, with names such as Marseille coach Didier Deschamps, Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc and former France midfielder Luis Fernandez tipped as possible successors.

But Domenech, who led Les Bleus to the World Cup final in 2006 before overseeing a disappointing group-stage exit at Euro 2008, does not think anyone should be ruled out and views Cameroon coach Paul Le Guen and Gabon manager Alain Giresse as other possible contenders.

"The choice should not be limited to one or two people," he told www.lequipe.fr.

"There are others. Maybe Paul Le Guen will be available, Alain Giresse... There are some coaches who have succeeded with other squads.

"Each will have to try to prove he is the best after the World Cup.

"But it's not my problem. It is not I who will judge. That does not concern me. I work until July 12."
