Paraguay

Nelson Valdez was the toast of Paraguay after his goal against Argentina in their qualifying group ensured this country qualification for South Africa. It was Paraguay’s fourth-straight World Cup finals and they did it with two games to spare.
For Paraguay’s Argentinean coach Gerardo Martino, it will be his first World Cup finals. The South American side, who will feature the likes of Roque Santa Cruz and Nelson Haedo Valdez, will be aiming to do better than Germany 2006 where they failed to make it out of the group stages.
Chances:
At their fourth World Cup in a row, Martino's side are a good bet to secure a place in the last 16. Valdez and midfielder Cristian Riveros are their star performers, with a solid defence still the base from which they operate.
