Aussie Masters retain Tour status

Aussie Masters retain Tour status

The Australian Masters, which this year features world number one Tiger Woods, will again be part of the European Tour.

Now called the JBWere Masters, the co-sanctioning with the PGA Tour of Australasia enters its fourth year for the Melbourne event on November 12-15.

Tour chief executive George O'Grady said: "It affords our members a final opportunity to secure a place among the top 60 players who will contest the Dubai World Championship the following week.

"Additionally, the competition to claim a place in the top 115 and exempt status for 2010 is likely to be equally tightly fought."

Kingston Heath stages the event and alongside Woods will be Geoff Ogilvy, Stuart Appleby, Aaron Baddeley, Michael Campbell and Adam Scott.
