Flawless Jeev tied at Nippon Series
A flawless Jeev Milkha Singh carded a superb six-under 64 to share the second place after the opening round of the season-ending Nippon Series JT Cup.
The Indian, who is lying one stroke behind leader local favourite Kaname Yokoo (63), is tied at the second spot with Azuma Yano, Katsumasa Miyamoto of Japan and Thailand's Prayad Marksaeng.
Jeev, who won the event in 2006 and finished third last year, was error free in his round today as he made as many as six birdies with not a single bogey. The Chandigarh pro slotted three birdies each on the front and back nine.
"I have been playing well this season and as I have always maintained if I can keep myself in the run over the weekend, I will always have a chance. I love this tournament. It seems to bring the best out in me," Jeev said.
Jeev is enjoying the form of his life and already registered three wins this season, one each at European, Asian and Japan Tours.
The event is the season-ending tournament featuring all the winners, defending champions of Japan Tour.
