Trio share lead at Evian Masters
Becky Brewerton, Na Yeon Choi and Ai Miyazato share the lead on nine under par after the second round at the Evian Masters.
Brewerton and Choi both shot four-under 68s to share the lead in Evian-les-Bains for a second day and were joined by Miyazato, who shot a 66.Overnight co-leader In-Kyung Kim, from South Korea, is a shot further back.
Brewerton, who won the Open de Espana on Sunday, was on course to hold the lead on her own after carding four birdies and an eagle, but two bogeys in her last three holes set her back.
The 26-year-old said: "My short game was excellent. Everything was great. I holed a couple of really nice putts again, chipped in (at the fifth hole) and just felt very good in all parts of my game.
"Obviously there's a touch of disappointment because I got to 11 under. This is a really tough course to not have any bogeys. It would have been quite an achievement not to. (I'm) disappointed I did at the end but I would have taken 68 at the start of the day."
Choi, who lost at Evian last year on a sudden death play-off, is hopeful she can go one better this time.
"I feel really confident. Yeah, I think I can do it," she said.
Miyazato added: "I feel great. I mean, this is my sixth time at Evian, so I have been playing here for years. I'm very happy with that."
A group of five players are on seven under, while world number one Lorena Ochoa is nine shots off the lead on level par and American teenager Michelle Wie one shot better off.
